Vagianelis Named Liberty’s Counsel

The Liberty Affordable Housing Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of John N. Vagianelis, as Counsel. Mr. Vagianelis is the Managing Partner of Mazzotta & Vagianelis, P.C. located in Albany, New York.

Mr. Vagianelis brings to Liberty his extensive experience in the areas of real estate finance and development, municipal finance and general business law, including, but not limited to, mortgage financing and letter-of-credit enhancement for affordable housing transactions, including tax-exempt bond transactions and Freddie Mac multi-family financings and other government subsidized mortgage lending programs.

He has successfully represented developers and lenders in a variety of multi-family housing transactions all across New York State, including low-income housing tax credit transactions, historic tax credit transactions, HUD-assisted financings, USDA Rural Development financings and supportive housing transactions with the New York State Office of Mental Health and New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities.

For more than twenty years Mr. Vagianelis has established and maintained excellent working relationships with the parties necessary for the successful development of affordable housing: mortgage lenders, federal and state agencies, tax credit equity syndicators and local municipalities.

Mr. Vagianelis received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University, cum laude, and his law degree, cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University.
