Colonial Square I & II Apartments

Colonial Square Apartments, formerly known as Highland Gardens and Holland Gardens, encompasses 200 units of family housing in the City of Amsterdam. This combined property includes Colonial Square I at 200 Virginia Lane and Colonial Square II at 100 Charles Lane, situated on a single contiguous site.

The transformation of Colonial Square Apartments was completed in January 2014. This substantial rehabilitation project was funded through the HFA tax-exempt bond program with 4% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and DHCR Weatherization funds. The renovation involved extensive upgrades, including new vinyl siding, windows, doors, roofs, and landscaping. Interiors were modernized with ENERGY STAR appliances, updated flooring, and refreshed kitchens and bathrooms, ensuring a contemporary and comfortable living environment for residents.
